Women in Discipleship (sm) Weekly Devotionals 2005
Week 40
As a ministry leader there are times when I have experienced extreme joy. At other times extreme sorrow flood by soul. In the heart of this ministry is a compassion for people to grab hold of the truth of God's Word and live lives that reflect His power in those precious Words.
Even now there are a number of us who are preparing for another Mission opportunity and with this excitement comes challenge, pressure, concern, excitement, anticipation and wonder at what the Father has bestowed upon us in this faith filled opportunity. And joy blossoms anew!
So many things need to take place for this one thing to occur. Besides the preparations for this journey there are people working on projects that help the poor and needy in our community. We have others packaging bags to send to various places all over the world. Our weekly Discipleship gatherings continue to encourage the young and older alike. We have women who pray and give and help in many ways. It is wonderful to see how God puts the desires into the hearts of people.
Scripture to ponder: Philippians 2:17-18 "But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. And you too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me."
How is your life being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice of your faith today? We each have a calling to be a living, breathing, working testimony of the power of God in our lives. I know that many of you who read this weekly devotional are actually in other parts of our globe working for the kingdom of God. That is exciting. For each one, wherever you are, who read this, there is ministry opportunity available. We are all being called to "go." (Matthew 28) It may at the supermarket, the doctor's office, church, school, or along the highway. What happens to be your "service" today? Share with us how you are being poured out as a drink offering. We love to hear from you. As Paul wrote: " I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me." (v.18b)
I'm anticipating your response this week. Share your poured out experience with us!
Blessings in Jesus,
Sandra Davis for the team at Women in Discipleship
