Week 43
This time of year is very interesting. I believe that we see in each of the seasons a valuable life lesson of God's plans and purposes. In the Fall there is both rear beauty and fading hopes and dreams. I see these two spectrums from the visual as well as the figurative experience. The Fall leaves can be filled with extreme color and beauty. They can be arrayed against the green of the Evergreen tree that stays the same year in and year out. The awe of its beauty is breathtaking. The same can be said of God's Word and His plans for each of us in our lifetimes.
Scripture to ponder: Psalm 96:11-12 "Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad, let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them."
The Psalmist was delighted in the beauty of God's creation. I can just ponder that he must have looked out and saw great beauty in the seasons and the harvest times. It was beautiful for him to see the sea foam up and the waves ebb and flow along the coast line. The planted fields of grain and then the wonder of the harvest time that brought forth food. Then he also pondered the heavens when the storms came and the sun rise and set. All these things we can ponder too during our daily exercise of faith.
We also are aware of the strength of God's creation. During the recent hurricane we saw great power demonstrated in the storm that hit our fair land. God's power in the creation is evident and filled with His plans and purposes though harsh as they may seem. We see this as well in our communities and around the world. God's people are called to be ready to give an account of the hope that is in us. Are we ready?
This week we can enjoy God's creation in whatever way God desires to reveal His power through His Creation to us. He is involved in all areas of life and its so comforting to know that He is in control of all things during every season of life. Let's share His saving message abundantly every day.
