Weekly Devotionals 2005

Week 45

Listen to these precious words to ponder for this week:

Scripture to ponder: 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

Last week I referred to this verse. It’s so wonderful to walk in the Light. Over the past several weeks the days have been cloudy and overcast. We saw very little sunshine and the humid conditions were almost gloomy. It’s sunny today and I feel a refreshment in my outlook and this is just a physical feeling.

The True Light has come. Jesus has given us His very best and we are now “a special people.” All that we possess in Him is in no way about us. That is impossible. It’s all because of HimJ. Jesus is the foundation stone of True Life and Joy!

We can, through Jesus “proclaim the praises of Jesus“. Isn’t that a wonderful blessing? His marvelous Light gives to us Light. Through Him we can shine. It’s like I heard recently, just like the moon which has no light reflects the suns light at night so we can do this same thing when we study the Word of God, pray, praise, witness and participate in the fellowship of believers. We then can reflect Him to the world. Just to think that He desires for us to reflect Him. Wow! That’s how the Son gets glorified…through us!

How is your daily time of reflecting Christ? If we don’t spend time reflecting Him we will loose the glow and become useless for Him. That’s a thought to ponder. We all need recharging don’t we?

The Word of God, the Spirit of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ are all worthy sources of the True Light that we need to be daily getting recharged through. His Light our commission. May we each be ready to shine His Light in our daily lives until He return.

Enjoy His reflection,
Sandra Davis for the team at Women in Discipleship
