Week One
Dear Friends:
What was from the beginning. John 1:1a
A New Year brings new thoughts, hopes, challenges and blessings. As a Christian living in a post Christian culture, new opportunities to shine forth God’s love become both a blessing and a challenge. Though a new year is here God is still the same.
This year we will journey together through the wonderful book of 1 John. My prayer is that you will enjoy the fruit of God’s amazing love for us in this inspired writing.
John was a most tender Elder in this church. His pastoral Epistles and Gospel overflow with a tremendous love for his flock and a desire to instruct them in healthy discipleship and accountability. This example is good for all of us today.
This year as we take a verse by verse devotional journey it is my prayer that Jesus will more and more shine forth His Light in your daily walk with Him.
Through brief moments in devotion together just know that my heart remains diligent to encourage you to walk faithfully before the Lord right where you are today.
I would encourage you to begin this week to print these devotionals. Place them in a notebook and begin to journal your thoughts as you purpose to apply the Questions to Ponder at the end of the devotional.
If you do I assure you that the Lord will use the applications in your life! When the year is completed we will see once again how truly faithful our Lord is in our lives!
