Words can bring great comfort to a heart that needs encouragement. The word "abide" is just such a word. The true believer abides in Christ continually.

 

We now have security in Jesus and His Father. From the moment you believe the abiding begins. (Refer to week 17)

 

The future is also secure for us. When we are called home we will inherit the rest of the abiding which has been prepared for us. At that time the completion to the abiding will be in the presence of Father and Son forever. What a day that will be!

 

And as we wait we see John remind us of the promise of the ages. Eternal life is the promise given to us through Jesus Christ. We are living now but one day we will be "fully alive" in Christ for eternity. Isn’t that a great hope to ponder?

 

Let's remember the price that was paid for this wonderful gift given to us. Jesus Christ!
