“and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”

1 John 4: 3-4

 

I really like how Scripture answers Scripture. We see in these verses the answer to what John questioned in the previous 2 verses. John states that an unsaved person does not confess that Jesus is God’s Son who has come in the flesh to pay for the sins of our fallen world (incarnation). (Luke 11:23) We know that the spirit of the antichrist is here even today! We need to beware dear ones.

 

We, those of us who are His children are “overcomers.” We are in God’s hands and God is holding us secure. Jesus is the God-Man of salvation and reconciliation.

 

Now I want you to think of something. Who do you know that may be practicing religion but does not fully embrace Jesus as Savior and Lord totally and completely? The people around you profess something. Do you know their heart association? Anyone who is antichrist is not of Christ, no matter if Christ is in the name of their religion or church or book of faith. If its claim leaves out the whole council of Christ Jesus as the One true God-Man complete in death, resurrection and ascension it is of the anti-christ…the devil. That is a fact! Some call us narrow minded. Jesus said it’s the “narrow way.“ Broad is the way of destruction.

 

Another thing that encourages me is verse 4 where I am told that “greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.” Right now it may appear overwhelming to see the spirit of antichrist all over the place. He is diverse and cunning and we need to be on the alert everywhere dear ones!

 

It is true that Christ has given to us the Holy Spirit who reveals hope and peace and strength and guidance. I cannot survive without Him. I just desire to be useful unto my God-Man Jesus while it is today because I see so many who are lost. John wanted faithful followers and I’m so glad he gave to us this book of practical application to live by. Let’s share it today.

List some religions today near your home that are of the spirit of antichrist. What is their claim? List those things that do not align with the Word of God.
