Women In Discipleship Weekly Devotionals for 2007 – The Psalms Weekly Reading: Psalm 8 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth. - Psalm 8:1a, 9 When reading this Psalm, joy can flow forth from the heart. David penned these magnificent words long ago, yet today, as we read the message, it is just as profound in glory and wonder.
In a world that tries to deny the God of the creation, we see here the loveliness of both.
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers…(v.3a). God has such awesome creativity! Then: What is man that You take thought of him… (v. 4). How marvelous this God of ours is! He does so much for us. He made us to rule over the works of His hands; he has put all things under our feet. (v.6 paraphrased)
Yes, we are to take care of His creation, but it is clear here, that we are to worship Him! After all, He created everything, thus His title: Creator!
He cares for us (v.4). David knew this and rejoiced! Let us follow his lead and do likewise every day!
What do you see in creation that stirs your heart for Him?
Blessings, Dear Created Ones!
