"For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; the upright will behold
His face." Psalm 11:7
Have you ever noticed that some small slogans can become catch phrases in your mind?
Psalm 11 is short. It is only 7 verses. It is a snappy Psalm! David speaks quickly of his sure defense, the LORD! His refuge is the LORD of heaven! The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD’S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men (v.4).
David here reveals his heart for God. When you read this Psalm, consider David’s passion for God! You can almost sense his connectedness to the ways and power and purity of the LORD in these brief 7 verses.
When hope seems distant, consider like David, In the LORD I take refuge….The upright will behold His face (1a, 7b). Wonderful claims! These words can be of refuge and defense for our entire lives each new day, if we choose to follow them. May we catch David’s lead!
In the righteousness of the Lord alone,
