"The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’." Psalm 14:1
Do you know someone who is walking as a fool today? I don’t speak these words lightly. Who is a fool? This Psalm gives a good description of a fool!
David pens God’s words: The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. (v.2)
What does God say about who He sees? They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one (v. 3). This is a truthful statement. God is holy. The world is corrupt.
The nation of Israel was completely corrupt. The world is corrupt today, and also is everyone who is not part of the righteous generation (v.5b).
David longed for Messiah to usher in redemption. He desired restoration. Today we see of which David only dreamed. Jesus has ushered in salvation for everyone who will call on His Name in truth.
We can be glad because God has given us His salvation and now calls us a righteous generation. We now live in His Light and will forever. Let us get the word out, so those in the world who don’t know will come to know the One who is the Light of the world, Jesus Christ.
Living in His Light daily,
