"He who does these things will never be shaken." Psalm 15:5c
Two weeks ago, in Psalm 13, we saw David’s closet prayer for help from his deep trouble. Last week, we saw David speak of the depravity of mankind apart from God. Now in Psalm 15, we enter into a Psalm describing the person who is worthy to abide in God’s tent!
Keys to this entering into God’s tent include: 1) a person’s walk of integrity; 2) a person’s work of righteousness; 3) speaking the truth from the heart (v2).
For the true Christian, a turning from folly (fool) to God is intentionally demonstrated. It’s a work of the heart toward God.
The tongue can reveal the heart of a person. The actions of a person reveal character. The possessions, and their hold on a person, can reveal the idols of life. All these indicators help to identify the true nature of the righteous generation (Ps. 14:5).
David concludes this passage with some very significant words: He who does these things will never be shaken (v5). Isn’t this something we all desire? Integrity, Works of Righteousness, and Truth are missing in our world today. By God’s power, we can demonstrate these three things. Our world will benefit by our Christian conduct and love! Are we willing? All for His Glory alone!
There are only two tents. The world is in its own, and we are in God’s! May we live worthy of His righteousness.
