"The heavens declare the Glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utter speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge." Psalm 19:1-2
I find it very rewarding to read these prayer Psalms of David, and continually realize how many of them contain phrases that I have heard many times. This Psalm’s significance is found in a two fold discourse.
The Lord has revealed Himself in two ways to the world. The first disclosure, as David reveals, is nature. Verses 1-6 describe the Power of God in His creation. It is a wonderfully worded (inspired) Psalm describing the world we live in. (Refer to Romans 1:18-23). David, by inspiration, then goes into the second disclosure: The Word of God is spoken Truth by the Creator to the world. A study in Psalm 119 reveals all the different names ascribed to God’s Word, for example: law…testimony... statutes…commandments…judgments. This points us to the Word of God!
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever (v. 9). Holy reverence to the Bible will convict, clean, and purify the willing recipient, and creation is a tangible factor in believing God in Christ Jesus.
This is true knowledge and indeed True worship!
May our worship of the Creator confirm in us His creation!
Blessings in Him,
