June - Week 24
"Examine me, O LORD, and try me, test my mind and my heart." - Psalm 26:2
In a court of law the judge and jury have the responsibility to pronounce guilt or innocent upon the accused. In this passage, David is before God in prayer. He is speaking with passion before the Judge of all! The accusations by men are being thrown at him with force and at will.
David confirms his mind and heart to God. He knows he isn't a perfect man, but he does know that his intensions are honorable and true before God.
He states his stand: 1) He walks with integrity 2) His trust in God is unwavering 3) He walks in truth 4) He stays away from deceitful wicked men 5) He is confident before God 6) He is thankful to God 7) He worships God alone!
His life before God was pure, therefore his conscience could state: "My foot stands on a level plain; in the congregations I shall bless the LORD." May our lives be filled with this same profession of faith!
May our testimony today yield a level plain before our Lord!
