"I will give heed to the blameless way." Psalm 101:2a
In a very brief and heart felt Psalm, David sings a song I would call "The Rules of the House." Reading through these 8 verses, I see David taking charge of his house (heart). Rule 1) Acknowledge God and His justice, love and perfection. Rule 2) I will walk with integrity. Rule 3) Worthless things I will not accept. Rule 4) No evil will enter in. Rule 5) No slander, haughty look or arrogant heart will be spoken of my neighbor Rule 6) Only the faithful and blameless are to be my companions. Rule 7) No one who speaks deceit or falsehood will enter in. Rule 8) All wickedness will be cut off daily from my home. This descriptive testimony reminds me of how important confession, truth, and the Word are in the life of a Christian. Psalm 103 is a contrast between the human and the Divine. God is Sovereign, and we are not! His Sovereignty rules over all. He is mindful that we are but dust! (v.19/14) A man’s days are like grass.(v.15a) But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him. (v.17) As this Psalm is read, the heart is made glad because God's Word feeds us like no human food can. Taking the time to feed on this Psalm will bring worship, praise, and joy to the heart that is made from God's hand of redemption. Enjoy taking time to be spiritually fed with these delightful Psalms today. Sandra Davis Director for Women in Discipleship
