Weekly Devotionals for 2007 – The Psalms
December - Week 52
"Everyday I will bless Thee, And I will praise Thy name forever and ever." Psalm 145:2
As we conclude another year long study, this one looking into the Psalms of David, I must admit…It has been humbling to read these Psalms and share with you just a small taste of the incredible life of David. Every Psalm addressed some concern, some adversary, and always there was hope in God for the final outcome. We conclude with Psalm 145. A Psalm filled with David's amazing love for God and the extreme Goodness of God toward him. We are blessed by these great praises to God written by a man after God's own heart. David addressed God as King. He was a (k)ing but he knew the King of kings! Every day he praised the Lord. "His greatness is unsearchable." (v.36) David chose to: "Meditate on the glorious splendor of Thy majesty, and on Thy wondrous works." (v.5) Our Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, great in lovingkindness, powerful, majestic, righteous and all truth. All these words are included in this text and are marvelous in the descriptive understanding of the writer. This year has been a blessing to me. Challenges have come, victories have been won. It hasn't been easy, but with God all things are possible. I pray that as the New Year begins, we each may say with David: "I will extol Thee, my God and King; I will bless Thy name forever and ever." Amen! Let's worship the King always and forever!
