WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)
January - Week 4: From Romans 12:1 we see the word “brethren” spoken. Paul was speaking to the Roman Christians, and he identified them as “brethren.” The inheritance that was theirs was because they had repented of their sins, claimed the free gift given to them through Jesus Christ, and were now walking in His grace that had been given to them. As he shared with them, Paul made it clear that the “mercy” of God was given to them through the willing sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. It was now in their best interest to live lives worthy of His sacrifice for them. APPLICATION: Before continuing, there is an important question to ask yourself. Are you counted among the brethren? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Have you, by the mercy of God, received eternal life in Jesus Christ? Jesus said: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me. John 14:6 Romans 6:23 tells us: The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Paul explained the Gospel in Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. As I share my life with the brethren, and those in the world who need to hear the Gospel, am I doing it with a sweetness that reflects Christ’s love?
