WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)
April - Week 1: Psalm 8:1-2 states:
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
Jesus used this Psalm as a rebuke to the adults in His midst during His ministry. The children around Him knew how to praise Jesus.
In Matthew 21, Jesus is described as a Healer of the lame and blind. Jesus is worthy to be praised. The people began to recognize some of the wonderful things He had done. We see that the children realized there was something special about Him, and gave Him praise.
Praise is the overflow of a heart filled with gratitude to God for His grace (unearned, unmerited favor) imparted to the Believer in Jesus Christ.
APPLICATION: Why do you think Jesus used the example of little children in referring to Believers? How could having the mindset of a child enhance your praise to God?
Let’s sing praises to our wonderful Savior and Lord today! Sandra Davis, for the team at Women in Discipleship
