WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)
April - Week 2: The Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians these words:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3
To have such a blessing is profound and worthy of rejoicing. We are His possession and are given His blessings every day, every hour, every minute. Imagine such a gift! It is almost too much to consider. Yet, even now this gift is worthy of all our strength, and so much more, to rejoice in Him. Our passion should be to honor Jesus in everything. The first chapter of Ephesians is a love gift to us. The whole Bible is. Yet in this passage, we learn the depth of His love in that before I was a twinkle in my parent’s eyes, He had His eye on me. Now that is something to rejoice in! The close of the chapter comes with a wonderful prayer that Paul prays for his flock of Believers. The eye of their heart was on his mind. He desired for them to see Jesus from an eternal perspective.
APPLICATION: Let us check our heart today. Is my attitude one of sincere and blameless devotion to Christ Jesus? Is it my desire to be to the glory and praise of God? If it is, then the sound of music to His ears is wonderful! Sandra Davis, for the team at Women in Discipleship
