WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)
May - Week 1: Today we live under grace. Jesus has brought a New Covenant. We are no longer ruled by the Law, but by a person - Jesus. He guides us, lives His life through us, and is our Shepherd.
We are still urged to obey the Law, because it contains the decrees of Almighty God. However, we are not under the condemnation of the Law. We walk in the light of Jesus Christ. It cost Him His life on the cross, because He took our sin upon Himself so that we can have life in Him.
God knows us intimately. He desires to see in each of us a sincere heart of humble confession for our sin: the sin that has already been paid in full by Jesus.
We walk in grace because of Jesus. We temporarily live in a body of flesh; therefore we will all wrestle with sin. When we confess our sin, we are acknowledging God's holiness, which is one way to give Him glory.
Repentance is an act of obedience and is glorifying to God. We have already been forgiven, and can rejoice in the salvation given to us through Jesus Christ. If you glory in the Lord as a continual act of praise, then the will of God is being manifested in you today!
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:16
APPLICATION: Is there any sin I need to confess today? As a Christian, one of my most precious acts of worship is the confession of sin to God. He delights to hear my humble heart toward Him and others. May we each be willing to confess and be cleansed. Sandra Davis, for the team at Women in Discipleship
