WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)
May - Week 3: In the New Testament, we find a Greek word for the "glory" that is the Lord's:
Doxazo = (#1392) means to magnify; extol; or praise; used especially of glorifying God, ascribing honor to Him, acknowledging Him, His attributes, His acts, and His glory. (“Lexicon”, pp. 1826-1827)
As Believers, we can actually bring “glory” to God through our lives. Listen to Matthew 5:16:
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may
see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Do you see it? God is glorified as His light shines through the "brethren." God's glory was also revealed through Jesus when He demonstrated divine power in healing and forgiving those who came to Him.
For the Christian, suffering in this life is a stark reality. There will be persecution and testing of your faith. Shining His light in a dark world is bold. The name of Jesus is hated in many places.
We are to know Whom we believe and not be ashamed of His glorious name. You can entrust your soul to
a faithful Creator in doing what is right. (1 Peter 4:19b).
