WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)
June - Week 3:
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Philippians 4:4
We can rejoice because God looked with favor upon us and made us the beloved.
The word kauchema (#2745) in the New Testament is sometimes translated "boasting." It means: that which one glories in; a matter or ground of glorying. (Greek Dictionary, p.41)
We all remember the words of Paul:
"Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me." (2 Corinthians 12:9b)
Rejoicing and boasting in the Lord result from our WALK OF GRACE with Jesus.
Joy comes through obedience and willing surrender as Jesus lives through us.
APPLICATION: What can I do today in my infirmities and weaknesses, giving Jesus the credit? Can others see Jesus in my testimony? May our testimony reflect the glory of Jesus always! Sandra Davis, for the team at Women in Discipleship
