Because He is our Father, God wants us to:
ask Him for things,
seek His face,
and
knock on His door,
desiring fellowship with Him.
The desire to know God, seek God, speak to God, and listen to God is a daily discipline of the soul.
In our prayers, we need to be reminded of our sinful nature.
God has washed us clean in the spiritual nature, but the flesh is still present.
It is important to remember to ask the Holy Spirit to point out our sin and help us keep short accounts, so we can maintain fellowship with God and others.
1 Peter 3:12a is a great verse of encouragement to the Believer.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears
are open unto their prayers.
For the Believer, supplication is simply the cry of a child to the Father.
God is the giver of all good and perfect gifts.
He wants us to depend on Him for everything.
If we are holding onto something, thinking we can do it ourselves, we are missing Him!
He desires to keep conversation with us flowing constantly.
He waits, He watches, He listens, He gives, He comforts, He loves, and He leads. He wants to invade every nook and cranny of our lives.
We are His, and He wants our
total surrender! APPLICATION:
