Week Two - JEHOVAH ROPHE (RAPHA) -- The LORD Who Heals
Last week we quoted Exodus 15:22-26, where Moses cried out to the LORD because of the grumblings of the people. Their question was, “What are we to drink?” The LORD answered Moses with a show of Power. He sweetened the water at Marah through a piece of wood. Then Moses cried out to the LORD ,
and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. Exodus 15:25 Moses heard the distress of the people, and realized that this place had “bad water”. This must have discouraged the people, who had never been in need of clean water before.
The journey through the desert was surely hot and tiring. And Moses, being their leader, recognized the need and ran to the One who could solve this problem. Moses listened and immediately obeyed what the LORD instructed him to do. APPLICATION:
