JEHOVAH SABAOTH - The LORD of Hosts - Week 3
During this time of the year, many people are planning and preparing for the celebration of the birthday of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. It is a wonderful time to ponder Him. This week we will see this Jesus as a Mighty God who rules over all!! King David knew who truly was the King of all: JEHOVAH Sabaoth - the LORD of hosts.
We see from II Samuel several great reminders of who really rules over all:
David became greater and greater, for the LORD of hosts was with him.
David's prayer in II Samuel 7:18-29 truly emphasizes his knowledge, fear, love, and respect for JEHOVAH Sabaoth – the LORD of hosts.II Samuel 5:10 …that Your name may be magnified forever, by saying, ‘The LORD of hosts is God over Israel’; and may the house of Your servant David be established before You. II Samuel 7:26 David recognized his unworthiness way back when God gave him victory over Goliath (I Samuel 17), and he carried this honor throughout his life, in seasons of sin and victory. David showed his trust in JEHOVAH Sabaoth by faith, trust, and in action!!! APPLICATION: Jesus is not just a baby born in Bethlehem. He is LORD of hosts!
