A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself.
FEBRUARY - WEEK ONE
Book of the Bible: Deuteronomy Theme of the Book: In Obedience, Moses records the Law of God to love the LORD with all your being Main Character(s): Moses, Joshua and God The “Red Thread”: Deuteronomy speaks of a New Prophet who will come, which is a prophecy of the future Messiah (Acts 3:22-23).
Key Verses: Deuteronomy 6:5 and 18:15
'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
'The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to (H)him.'
APPLICATION: The law of God is quite significant. God spoke to Moses and gave Him these laws. God is the Supreme Law Giver.
- How am I loving God with all my “heart” (mind/personality/emotions) today?
- How am I loving God with all my “soul” (spiritually) today?
- How am I loving God with all my “strength” (physically) today?
Deuteronomy 27:9-10 says:
Then Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, 'Be silent and listen, O Israel! This day you have become a people for the LORD your God. You shall therefore obey the LORD your God, and do His commandments and His statutes which I command you today.'
