Women In Discipleship
Weekly Devotional – 2010 The Red Thread Series
A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself.
FEBRUARY - WEEK FOUR
Book of the Bible: Ruth Theme of the Book: Boaz becomes the "kinsman redeemer" of Ruth after the death of her husband Main Character(s): Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz The “Red Thread”: Boaz is a "type of Christ" in this wonderful story of redemption. This account foretells the coming of Christ as our Redeemer.
Key Verses: Ruth 2:1 and 4:13-14
Now Naomi had a kinsman of her husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech, whose name was Boaz. So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife, and he went in to her. And the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. Then the women said to Naomi, 'Blessed is the LORD who has not left you without a redeemer today, and may his name become famous in Israel.'
