The Red Thread Series A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself. MARCH - WEEK FOUR
Book of the Bible: Ezra Theme of the Book: Jews return to the Promised Land Main Character(s): Ezra, Zerubbabel, Cyrus, Haggai, Zechariah The “Red Thread”: The Covenant established with King David was alive and forgiveness was demonstrated by God just as Christ would demonstrate years later on the Cross. Key Verses: Ezra 1: 3 and 2:1 Whoever there is among you of all His people, may his God be with him!
Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem. Now these are the people of the province who came up out of captivity of the exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his city. APPLICATION: God is Sovereign over all things.
