Women In Discipleship
Weekly Devotional – 2010 The Red Thread Series
A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself.
APRIL - WEEK ONE
Book of the Bible: Esther Theme of the Book: God's hand of protection for His chosen people through a woman Main Character(s): Esther, Mordecai, King Xerxes I, Haman The “Red Thread”: Though God is not mentioned specifically, we see His sovereign protection as Queen Esther willingly lays her life on the line to save her people from sure doom by the hands of Haman.
Key Verses: Esther 4:14 ... Mordecai (Esther's uncle) said to Esther:
'For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father's house will perish.
And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?'
