Weekly Devotional – 2010 The Red Thread Series
A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself.
APRIL - WEEK ONE
Book of the Bible: Job Theme of the Book: Suffering comes to those who are righteous; Job remained faithful through his suffering. Main Character(s): Job, his friends, and Elihu the Buzite The “Red Thread”: In the midst of Job’s suffering, he cries out to God for relief. Job states the need for a Mediator for himself.
Key Verses: Job 2:10 and 13:15
'Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?' In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
'Though He slay me, I will hope in Him; Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.'
APPLICATION:
- Who or what am I depending upon today, rather than depending upon God in Christ?
- In what I am going through today, how is God showing Himself faithful?
- Write out Job 13:15a on a card and put it in a prominent place where you can see it each day this week.
