Weekly Devotional – 2010 The Red Thread Series
A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself.
APRIL - WEEK THREE
Book of the Bible: Proverbs Theme of the Book: A Book about wisdom as told by Solomon, son of David Main Character(s): Solomon The “Red Thread”: The Book of Proverbs is a teaching on Wisdom. We see here that the Wisdom came down to live among us in Christ as told in I Corinthians 1:30: But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us Wisdom from God ...
Key Verses: Proverbs 3:5-6,19
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.
APPLICATION: Proverbs is a great book to read to young people (and old).
- How can I take Proverbs 3:5-6 and apply it to my life today?
Just imagine: if we read this book daily, how much we could learn and apply to the testings and difficulties we face. There are 31 chapters: if implemented, one a day for a month for gaining Wisdom!
