The Red Thread Series A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself. JULY - WEEK FOUR
Book of the Bible: Micah Theme of the Book: Micah prophesies judgment on Samaria, the leaders of Judah and Israel, and the people of Judah and Israel, because of their failure to acknowledge and obey God. Main Character(s): The People of Israel The “Red Thread”: Micah prophesies the place of Jesus' birth an His "forever" status. Key Verses: Micah 5:2 'But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity. APPLICATION: Micah witnessed the deterioration of the nation of Israel. The hope of Micah 5:2 gave some, those who listened, the desire to look to God for rescue and redemption.
