Women In Discipleship
Weekly Devotional – 2010 The Red Thread Series
A wonderful “Red Thread” of salvation runs throughout the Bible, and each week we are looking at a different book of the Bible to see that Thread that leads to Jesus and God's perfect plan for redeeming mankind to Himself.
NOVEMBER - WEEK ONE
Book of the Bible: Galatians Theme of the Book: A clear preaching and teaching of the Gospel as the ultimate freedom found in Jesus Christ through "justification by faith alone" Main Character(s): Paul, Barnabas, Peter, Titus, Abraham, false teachers The “Red Thread”: The Church was being lured into the old law practices, thus Paul again instructs these Believers of the freedom they have in Christ and His atonement. Key Verses: Galatians 5:1 and 22-26
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
