The Bible – Absolute Truth – Week 4

The Bible is a uniquely different book. It points to a view of God, man, salvation and truth that is different from any other book ever written. This week we will focus on two Truths that are essential to our understanding of this amazing Book.

TRUTH ONE:

Our true view of God is spelled out in Scripture.

He is the Sovereign Lord of all, and One God filled with mercy, love and goodness.

'Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory
and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth;
Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.'
1 Chronicles 29:11

‘Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!’
Deuteronomy 6:4

The LORD is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.
Psalm 145:9

TRUTH TWO:

Our true view of man is spelled out in Scripture: God is holy; we were created in His image; we sinned; Jesus saved us by His death on the cross.

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.
Genesis 1: 27

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
For the wages of sin is death,
but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 3:23; 6:23
