WEEKLY DEVOTIONALS – 2011
The Bible – Absolute Truth – Week 11
TRUTH SEVEN = God has spoken through His prophets and the apostles.
We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:6
For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. II Peter 1:21
How we view Scripture tells us where our hearts and minds dwell.
Bible authors viewed the Holy writings as true and accurate.
For example: Daniel read Jeremiah’s prophecy about the 70 year captivity and began to pray and plan vigorously. (Daniel 9:2)
Peter boldly professed the truth of Scripture as spoken from God in II Peter 1:21.
John firmly stated that Scripture is truth by Holy Spirit power (1 John 4:6).
Isaiah stated in Isaiah 1:2….. For the LORD has spoken.
Ezekiel states in Ezekiel 3:11….. Thus says the LORD.
Paul, the Apostle, states:
For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the Word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the Word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13
THOUGHTS TO PONDER THIS WEEK
- The Prophets and the Apostles spoke by inspiration through the Spirit of God to "all who will believe."
- Do you believe?
- It’s all God’s Word!
- What an awesome Word Indeed!
- He is Alive!
