WEEKLY DEVOTIONALS – 2011
The Bible – Absolute Truth – Week 12

This week and next, we will be documenting the miraculous preservation of the Bible through the ages, and we will also see how God has protected its context.

How is it possible to have one Book united in thought, though written over 1600 years by many different writers?

Consider these statistics:
  • The Bible was written by 40 different authors
  • 1600 years of time run from Genesis to Revelation
  • Books of the Bible were written in three different languages:
    Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic
  • The writers consisted of prophets, priests, shepherds, kings, servants, doctors, tax collectors, fishermen, Pharisees, and others
  • The Bible was written on 3 continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe
  • 400 years separate the time between the Old and New Testament

One might ask:
How could one Book, The Bible, have come together with such precise accuracy?

We get a clue from the Prophecy in Genesis 3:15 of a Messiah. From the amazing story of Adam, Noah, Abraham and Israel, we witness the Divine plan of Redemption in Jesus Christ the Messiah as the promise given in Genesis 3:15.

In 66 amazing Books, one distinct Chronicle of Good News unfolds to mankind. How truly blessed we are to have such an amazing Book!

THOUGHTS TO PONDER THIS WEEK
  • After reading these brief facts of how Scripture came together, can you ponder the miracle of God’s Word for just a brief moment…?
  • Scripture is a Book we can Trust!
  • What will you do this week to embrace the Truths that Scripture proclaims?
