WEEK 29 In A. W. Pink’s book, "The Attributes of God", he begins with the Solitariness of God. Think about this:
God is solitary in His excellency. Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in powers, doing wonders? - Exodus 15:11 There was a time, if time it could be called, when God, in the unity of His nature…dwelt all alone... There was no heaven, where His glory is now particularly manifested. During a past eternity, God was alone: self contained, self sufficient, self satisfied; in need of nothing...God was under no constraint, no obligation, no necessity to create... That He did create was simply for His manifestive glory...Such a God cannot be found out by searching. He can be known only as He is revealed to the heart by the Holy Spirit through the Word.
