Written, as the sun was setting, on the way to a revival gathering.
The music and words came quickly. When she arrived at the meeting she could play and sing the song as it is presented today.

The sky shall unfold, preparing His entrance;
The stars shall applaud Him with thunders of praise.
The sweet light of His eyes shall enhance those awaiting;
And we shall behold Him then, face to face.

REFRAIN

Face to face in all of His glory.

Face to face, our Savior and Lord.

The angel shall sound the shout of His coming;
The sleeping shall rise from their slumbering place,
