 The Sermon on the Mount – A Sermon Like No Other Week 26 – Righteousness and Daily Issues Do not lay up for yourself treasures on earth…but lay up for yourselves treasurers in heaven ... for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19a,20a,21 (See Matthew 6:19-34) Jesus moves to daily issues in these verses. Wealth / treasures highlight this dialog. Examples will include the “eye.” He calls the eye the lamp of the body. What you view defines you ... beware! His next thought…you can’t serve God and mammon…beware! His next thought..you can’t worry about your life…is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Therefore do not worry..beware! BUT seek 1st His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you ... Sufficient for the day is its own trouble ... are we listening?
