 The Sermon on the Mount – A Sermon Like No Other Week 32 – Righteousness and Salvation Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Matthew 7:21 The 3rd couplet of this Salvation teaching by Jesus consists of a well known verse. Many people today have a profession of faith but the doing of their lives yields “bad fruit.” Profession is words ... Possession is a desire and striving to do the will of the Father and will produce “good fruit.” To know and to do is the difference in possessing eternal life. Active faith in Jesus is demonstrated in the mind and the heart. True repentance yields a worthy obedience to live in light of the teaching of Christ. Jesus knew and grieved that many of these people were doing good deeds but there was no genuine faith in Him in the doing ...
