The Sermon on the Mount – A Sermon Like No Other Week 33 – Righteousness and Salvation Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24
The 4th couplet of salvation taught here talks about two builders. The 1st builder is like a man who hears the Word as taught by Jesus and he acts upon the word in his life. It is lived out. Jesus compares him to a builder who chooses to build his house on a solid rock foundation. When issues come his way, when hard times hit, when tragedy appears, he is not moved or shaken. He stands securely on the One he has placed his faith in – Jesus! He is secure. The other builder, like the false prophets and the wide gate folks, when challenged with life’s issues, will crumble, fold, become disillusioned with their false faith and continue to run to self, world, wickedness, sinking sand living. Jesus was teaching these people that true faith is an active faith and He would be their Rock! Truth 32: True genuine faith is wisely constructed and firmly built in Jesus Christ alone.
Blessings to all,
