The Sermon on the Mount – A Sermon Like No Other Week 34 – Righteousness and Salvation When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Matthew 7:28, 29
The conclusion of the Sermon on the Mount is found in these verses. We see the impact Jesus had on these dear people. They were amazed, they recognized True Authority. They also recognized the emptiness that their scribes exhibited. This is a profound truth. The scribes were the keepers of the Law. They were the teachers. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. These people recognized His Authority! At least some of them did and would act upon His teaching. Some would come to recognize Him as the Messiah! His Sermon is a wonderful teaching to live by. He is Absolute Authority. His Words are the Word. (John 1:1-4) Truth 33: Absolute Truth comes through Christ Alone. In the weeks ahead we will be examining this Sermon from the Gospel of Luke.
Blessings to all,
