The Sermon on the Mount – A Sermon Like No Other Week 38 Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. Luke 6:21b, 25b
There is no sadder truth than seeing the wickedness of sin and those who laugh in it. The Gospel truth is that those of us who sincerely recognize, repent, and cling to the Savior, Jesus Christ, for our life now and in the future have reason to rejoice! The woe here is for those who think that this is their best life. It’s a lie and Jesus saw it in His day and wept! He sees it in our day as well. He warns the people to not get caught up in works religion and miss the Truth! He is telling us to keep the faith and remember that His redemption is drawing nigh! Truth #37: Though we are to be sorrowful over sin we are also to remember that our Redeemer has paid for those sins with His shed blood and we can rejoice now and forever!
Blessings to all,
