The Sermon on the Mount – A Sermon Like No Other
Week 49

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore.
Isaiah 9:7

We celebrate the birth of our promised Messiah. It is indeed a reason to celebrate, God coming to earth to redeem His own. And behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, God with us. Matthew 1:23 In this good news we see so much more ... We are told that there will be “no end to the increase of His government of peace.” These words appear out of place if seen with singular vision of the birth of Christ alone. But put on the vision of faith and truth and we see a huge hope filled with anticipation, love and surety. Jesus, who is reigning now in the heavens, will return and the increase of His government and of peace will be established on earth and it will be upheld with true justice and righteousness. May we celebrate with this hope...
Remember that the Sermon on the Mount was given to reveal true justice, mercy, righteousness and love. These qualities will be evident in the New Government!
