A Faithful Witness - Week Four - NOAH But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord ... Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:8,9b
Noah was a man who listened to God and obediently served Him. A FAITHFUL WITNESS is someone who, despite the obstacles, gives a willing testimony of the love of God. Can you imagine the culture of his day? Corruption was the norm. Noah was called by God to speak and work (build an ark). His labor was visible and demanding. He was a preacher of the Word of God. As 1 Peter 2:5 states: ...and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness. Noah was indeed a faithful witness. Imagine how labor intensive his life must have been. Consider his faith in God to preach repentance and true righteousness as people laughed and scorned him. Noah never flinched from his FAITHFUL WITNESS and when the rain came Noah and 7 others were the only saved ones after 120 long years of preaching and building. The next time you are discouraged just remember Noah, a FAITHFUL WITNESS and rejoice in your heart to God. He is indeed faithful. He asks us to trust Him. Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ ... standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the FAITH of the Gospel. Philippians 1:27a,c.
