A Faithful Witness - Week Six By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going ... By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:8,11
Abraham and Sarah were a remarkable couple. God called Abraham to, by faith, move from his home town to an undetermined location. Sarah was an obedient wife who was also barren. This couple, against all earthly hope, followed the call of God in a huge way.
Abraham had no GPS, no destination, no future heir. Sarah followed and trusted. Their lives were tried and tested, but by faith God strengthened them through it all.
God indeed blessed them. We see Sarah being blessed beyond her years with a son just as the Lord had promised. As Hebrews states: faith is the substance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. God is faithful. These two Faithful Witnesses give us a clear witness to God’s faithfulness. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Let’s witness for Him today. What might He be calling you to? It’s not blind faith when God is leading ... it’s trusting faith in a sure hope!
