A Faithful Witness - Week Ten Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. Joshua 1:6,7
There were only two men in the great wanderings of Israel that would live to enter the Promised Land. (Numbers 32:12) Joshua and Caleb were the spies who came back from spying out the land to assure the people that God was able to conquer the heathen nations for them.
A Faithful Witness is one who follows God fully. There is no half way faithful witness. We see in Numbers 32:12b that they followed the LORD fully. Joshua would be the chosen leader of Israel after Moses died. The LORD told Joshua: I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous ... Joshua 1:5b,6a. Of Joshua it is said: Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua and had known all the deeds of the LORD which he had done for Israel. Joshua 24:31. May our hearts be strong and courageous in following the LORD fully. Walking by faith before a Faithful God is a powerful witness to the world.
