A Faithful Witness - Week Eighteen Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations ... Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and breakdown, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant. Jeremiah 1:4,5,9b,10
The Prophet Jeremiah was called to a daunting task. His life would be one of trials and hardship. He would be hated, starved, rejected and imprisoned. His Faithful Witness in the midst of a nation’s sinful, rebellious lifestyle and rejection of God would qualify him as the “weeping prophet.” God used Jeremiah as a beacon of righteousness in a world gone mad with evil. His faithful witness yielded a godly legacy. As he prophesied, consequences did come to Israel, because they rejected God’s warning through his many prophetic warnings. We are living in a similar rebellious world. God’s holy, inerrant Word is speaking loud and clear. May the world hear it and may we be faithful witnesses to live it in our lives daily!
Blessings to all,
