A Faithful Witness - Week Twenty-Two Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! That with an iron stylus and lead they were engraved in the rock forever! As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth. Job 19:23-25
A Faithful Witness is focused on honoring God even in the midst of terrible trouble or despair. Job was such a man. In his worst hours he offers the above inscription. His interesting words become an amazing dialog for the world to witness. Only as God would have it, is the Book of Job one of the 66 books of Holy Scripture. James and Ezekiel would quote him. His faithful witness to the sovereignty of God in his suffering – give hope to every believer in the midst of extreme persecution. God is in control. Our faith, like Job is in the hands of the all knowing, living Redeemer. We walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Jesus tells us that in the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33b) Remember Job and persevere in your present difficulty and be reminded that indeed our Redeemer Lives!
Blessings to all,
