A Faithful Witness - Week Twenty-Five Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house ... and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously. Daniel 6:10
Daniel was a faithful witness. When he received news that it was unlawful to worship God, he did not hesitate to continue his regular worship of God. We see several key points in the above verse. First it says “he continued.” He did not have to consider the cost of prayer to God. The lion’s den was the penalty for his actions. 2nd we see he prayed and gave thanks. His faithful witness was in his action of offering thanks even in his extreme circumstances. As Paul states in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. May we like Daniel, offer God our prayers of thanksgiving no matter the cost!
