A Faithful Witness - Week Thirty-Four But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them ... Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst ... this Man, delivered over by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. But God raised Him again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for His to be held in its power. Acts 2:14a,22,23,24
Through the years I have often thought of Peter and his amazing transformation from lowly fisherman to bold preacher. His faithful witness was radically transformed that day in Jerusalem when he delivered the sermon he is most known for. (Acts 2:14-42) A key to being a faithful witness is the power of God being used by a willing witness! Peter was not fearful any longer. He was empowered. He was equipped by the Holy Spirit! He was moved. His words of truth reached into the willing hearts of 3,000 souls that day and the Church was born. Today we have the same Power working in us. The Holy Spirit is ready to give power to the faithful witness who is ready! Will we speak?
Blessings to all,
