Godly Wisdom - 2016
Week One

Give thy servant an understanding heart. 1 Kings 3:3

As Christians living in a post Christian world, one very necessary life principle needs to be applied to life. Godly Wisdom is needed in our lives so that this fallen world can see that God’s Hope and Joy do impact our world for good for those who are truly seeking and searching for the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Solomon, the king of Israel, knew he was inadequate even in his highly educated religious world view. He was led by God to call out to the only WISE God for help. The above prayer was directed to the only One who is All WISE. The apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 3:19 and 24: The wisdom of this world is folly with God ... The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile. We see in Proverbs 3:13-15: Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her (wisdom) is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She (wisdom) is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her (wisdom).
This year we will mine the wonder and blessings of Godly Wisdom. Wisdom is an attribute of God. He is its Author and Distributor. May our lives radiate into this world God’s Wisdom as we search the Scripture in pursuit of God’s heart in all we say, think, do and live!
